Aortic Aneurysm Repair & Dissection:

Aortic aneurysm repair and dissection are surgical procedures performed to address abnormalities in the aorta, the largest artery in the body. An aortic

aneurysm occurs when a section of the aortic wall weakens and bulges outward, posing a risk of rupture. During the repair procedure, the weakened section of the aorta is replaced with a synthetic graft to reinforce the artery's integrity. On the other hand, aortic dissection involves a tear in the inner lining of the aorta, which can lead to the separation of the layers of the artery. Surgical intervention is necessary to repair the tear and prevent further complications.

Bentall's Procedure

Bentall's procedure is a complex cardiac surgery that involves the replacement of both the aortic valve and the ascending aorta. It is typically performed to address conditions such as aortic

aneurysm, aortic dissection, or severe aortic valve disease. During the procedure, the damaged aortic valve and a portion of the aorta are excised, and a synthetic graft is implanted to replace the aorta. A new mechanical or biological valve is then attached to the graft. Bentall's procedure aims to restore proper blood flow and prevent future complications.

Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS)

Minimally invasive cardiac surgery is an approach that utilizes small incisions and specialized instruments to perform heart surgeries. This technique

offers several advantages over traditional open-heart surgery, including reduced trauma, decreased blood loss, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times. MICS can be used for various procedures, such as valve repair or replacement, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), and atrial septal defect (ASD) closure. The surgeon accesses the heart through small incisions between the ribs, minimizing the need for large chest incisions and the use of a heart-lung machine.

CABG (OFF-PUMP & ON-PUMP)

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is a surgical procedure used to bypass blocked or narrowed coronary arteries, which supply blood to the heart muscle.

During the procedure, a healthy blood vessel, usually taken from the leg or chest, is grafted onto the affected coronary artery to reroute blood flow and bypass the blockage. CABG can be performed on-pump, which involves using a heart-lung machine to temporarily take over the heart's function, or off-pump, where the heart continues to beat while the surgeon operates on it. Off-pump CABG is considered less invasive and may be suitable for certain patients.

Mitral Valve Replacement

Mitral valve replacement is a procedure performed to replace a damaged or diseased mitral valve with a mechanical or biological prosthetic valve.

The mitral valve is responsible for regulating blood flow between the left atrium and the left ventricle of the heart. When the valve is severely damaged or fails to function properly, it can lead to conditions such as mitral valve stenosis or regurgitation. Mitral valve replacement aims to restore normal blood flow and improve heart function.
